We’re Josh and Marissa, the ThumbsUp Travelers!  We love seeing new places, exploring new cultures, and finding adventure everywhere possible. We’ve both been travel obsessed as long as we can remember, only increasing for both of us with every passing year we age.  Thank goodness we’ve found the perfect match in one another- EVERY spare moment of vacation time we can grab from our full time work, we spend it exploring!

Work Hard, Travel Harder.

While visiting Thailand last November, we were walking around the market and saw this shirt that said ‘Work Hard, Travel Harder’ and laughed.  We realized that THIS WAS IT! This had been our motto for the last five years without even realizing it. We both loved our full time jobs and loved the challenging and rewarding environment of our careers, but we both knew that we felt most alive when we are out of our comfort zone exploring the beauty of this earth that god has created. We packed in as much as humanly possible for our long weekends, holidays, or quick trips abroad, but we always wondered… What would it be like to just go? Just pack up our bags, book a flight to anywhere, and see the world. Is that Crazy? What would it be like to travel throughout the world slowly, cultivate new relationships from the cultures we visited, and really immerse ourselves in the beauty of life without a time clock ticking away in our heads?  What if we could do it the way we’ve always wanted?

What if we could do it RIGHT?

With the lingering age of 30 repeating in our heads and the realization that life just goes by way too quickly, we knew we would regret it if we didn’t go. And we also realized that the timing would never feel quite right. So…No More wondering. On August 25th we are taking a leap of faith, and making our life long dream that seemed somewhat impossible (and a little nuts) a reality! We will be embarking on our greatest adventure ever- our trip around the world! And we will be going for ten months.  Maybe a year.  Just two crazy kids, two small packs, and giant smiles.
