Month 3: In Review (Travel Stats)

Oct 25-Nov 24th, 2014

Ice Cave - Iceland

Our 3rd month was extremely varied. We started in cold, crisp Iceland as we trekked on glaciers, went into ice caves and took in the dramatic scenery of the remote country. We warmed up a bit as we hit Germany. To our surprise, we were in Berlin for the 25th Flightanniversary of the Berlin wall and felt blessed to be able to enjoy the festivities as well as stay with a local Berliner who was so warm and gracious to us. We finished off our stint in Europe taking in Munich and the great beer halls. Then in was onto warm weather! We moved to Asia – first stop Thailand and embarked upon an amazing motorbike trip through the mountains. We finished off the month by traveling to the Philippines to meet up with some friends leading up to their wedding (which occurred in Month 4). The month was epic. From glaciers to mountains to jungle. It felt like we hit all 4 seasons and we were happy to end the month by pulling out our shorts, flip-flops, and reuniting with close friends.

Nice summary! I particularly like the health status ala Oregon Trail.

What’s the best phrase or saying you’ve picked up on the journey so far?

    • Josh says

Nick, love Oregon trail. I think our favorite saying recently here in Asia is “Same Same….but Different”. Heard it being said and see lots of t-shirts with it. Basically it is making fun of all of the stuff in the markets that is really exactly the same but the vendors try to tell you it’s different.
